Frequently asked questions
Does it work without an internet connection?
Dictation does. Transcription runs on your computer; you only need internet the first time, to download the speech model. Voice commands do need a connection.
Which apps can I dictate into?
Any app where you can type: email, Word, WhatsApp Web, your browser, code editors or your company chat. Susurro types wherever your cursor is. And if no text field is active, it shows the text in a window so you can copy it.
Is my voice sent to a server?
No. Your voice is transcribed on your computer and never leaves it. Ever. Only voice commands use the internet: what travels is the text of the command, already transcribed, with the names of your apps and windows, to decide what to open.
Can it translate what I say?
Yes. With the translation shortcut (Ctrl + Alt + I by default) you speak any language and the text is written directly in English. For now, translation is into English only.
Which languages does it recognize?
Over 100, with automatic detection: you speak and it identifies the language. Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese and many more.
What are voice commands?
With the Ctrl + Shift + Space shortcut you ask your computer to do things instead of dictating: open an app, go back to a window, open a project in your editor, search the web or summarize the YouTube video you're watching. You can also record a task once and repeat it by saying it. They're included in the plan.
How much does it cost?

Do I need a powerful computer?
No. It runs on any modern PC using the CPU. If you have an NVIDIA card, Susurro uses it and transcribes much faster.
Is there a Mac version?
